Bridges journey of achievements began when previous Captain Tom Harding and Vice-captain Josh Edney stepped down in November 2011.
Daniel Grinstead was recruited by Bridges as his Vice-captain which was graced with huge rewards after taking over the side during the season of 2011/2012. Bridges and Grinstead saved the First XI from relegation within their first half season. The Bridges & Grinstead partnership demonstrated strength after strength when completing a full season in 2012/2013 which led to promotion from Hampshire Open League 6. The rewards continued within season 2013/2014 as they gained sponsorship from Roger Lane Consulting Ltd along with the side completing an undefeated season whilst winning both the Hampshire Open League 5 Title and the Hampshire Open League Trophy. From the start of the current 2014/2015 season Bridges struggled to be pitch-side due to work commitments allowing the side to continue under Grinstead’s direction which saw the side hold a National Record of Undefeated games at 46 which started 2012. During the festive season Bridges made the call to step down and pass on the captaincy. After discussions with the Petersfield Hockey Committee, members elected Vice-captain Grinstead for Captaincy whom accepted. This role see’s Grinstead lead every squad he has played for at Petersfield since the age of U12. Grinstead quickly recruited the services of Josh Alder as Vice-captain, whom had played hockey for the club through the junior ranks and alongside Grinstead since U12’s.
Dan and Josh begin their campaign in charge of the Men’s First XI at Bedales School on January 10th against Southampton University 13:00 Push Back.
