One team of very excited and enthusiastic U8's arrived at The Edge for a morning of hockey. Having started the tournament like a swarm of bee's around a hockey ball shaped honey pot, the team tackled their way through the first 2 games. With manager Morley reminding them of the basics - pass, get in space, try not to tackle your own players and don't forget to mark! the team started to gel.
Twins E. Young and T. Young dominated the attacking midfield as they tackled their way through the defence in the direction of the goal. Stratton-Brown did well on the counter attack and Scott-Plummer showed off his reverse stick skills as he attacked his way down the left wing. The strong defence of Wigginton, Morley and McKenzie ensured that the team only conceded 1 goal throughout the whole tournament. Hulme scored the first goal for the team mid way through the tournament followed swiftly by another as he weaved his way through the field. The next goal came from a rugby style scrum on the goal line as T. Young and Scott-Plummer used their full bodies as well as the sticks to get the ball over the line. The final goal came from a strong slap by Hulme which finished the tournament on a high.
