The Petersfield B U10 side matched their counterparts in the A team, also achieving some nice symmetry in their results with two wins, two draws and two defeats. In wet and windy conditions, the B team started against Winchester B in what proved to be an end-to-end game. M White opened the scoring after a great pass from Sykes before Winchester grabbed an equaliser. The game could have gone either way but the 1-1 final score was fair.
The second match saw Petersfield line up against Trojans A, with the goalless final score due to a fine goal line clearance from Davis in the final minute of the game.
The next match against a physically strong City of Portsmouth A team was the only game in which Petersfield really struggled for possession. M White scored his second of the tournament but only once his side had already conceded five. Portsmouth concluded the scoring to win 6-1.
Lining up against Haselmere B, Petersfield let in an early goal before turning on the style and dominating their opponents and winning 4-1. M White scored a couple, the second following a great tackle from Jackson and a strong run and pass from Sykes. E White then ran from deep inside his own half to fire home before Sykes grabbed a goal of his own that his performance throughout the tournament thoroughly deserved.
The penultimate game resulted in a narrow defeat 2-1 for Petersfield against Trojans B. Sykes claimed the Petersfield goal with a mazy run from his own half.
Determined to finish on a high, Petersfield fought for every ball against Winchester A in the last match of the day. Cullan took a nasty blow to the knee before bravely returning and getting involved in the action in the midfield. Winchester scored first but a fantastic attitude saw Petersfield claim two goals through Max White and a 2-1 victory. The last goal was probably the best of the day, with Osnett winning the ball in her own half before a series of quick passes between E White and Sykes resulted in a tidy finish from M White, his sixth of the tournament.
