Petersfield played in Pool A, meeting Trojans, Sunbury & Walton, Havant and Winchester in the heats. First up were the team from London, Sunbury & Walton having started slowly Petersfield soon found their attacking form, however both teams were equally matched and the final score was a 0-0 draw. Next up local rivals Havant, again the teams were equally matched and the game finished 1-1. Against Trojans Petersfield were the stronger side and Petersfield secured a 1-0 win. The battle between Winchester was next, Winchester secured an early goal, back came Petersfield on the counter attack and levelled the score, and both teams battled on but a slip up in the Petersfield defence gave Winchester another goal. The win for Winchester put them into the finals and they became the eventual winners overall.
The players all worked hard, showed their skills and gelled as a team. These excellent hockey players provided an exciting morning of hockey for their spectators.
