Right from the start Petersfield dominated the pitch, with Greenaway demonstrating her skill weaving in and out of the Gosport players. After 10 minutes of strong attacking play from Petersfield, Greenaway was able to find a way through for Petersfield’s first goal. Virtue, Fitzhardinge, and Keville mounted a number of strong attacking movements from the wings, whilst A. O’Sullivan, Day, Llewelyn, and Morley stopped Gosport from building any momentum, cutting out any attempt to enter the Petersfield half. Going into half time, Petersfield were 4-0 up. Petersfield came out determined to increase the scoreline in the second half, with L. O’Sullivan, Simmonds, Stratton-Brown, Fitzhardinge and Greenaway keeping up the pressure and presenting a constant threat in front of the Gosport goal. Gosport rallied, and Temple stepped in to make a number of impressive saves in the second half. Despite this, Gosport were unable to stop Petersfield from dominating the score sheet. The final score was an impressive 10-1 to Petersfield, thanks to Greenaway (5), Simmonds (3), L. O’Sullivan (1) and Stratton-Brown (1).
