With limited availability across the women's sections this week, the 2s fielded a young side with no subs against second in the league Hamble, knowing that they had a big challenge ahead. Hamble quickly made themselves know quickly scoring three field goals in the opening 9 minutes of the game. E Donovan & Keech working well on the right hand side of the pitch, challenging the opposition, but unfortunately could not penetrate the attacking D. Field's defence were finding it hard to ward off the attacks with the wind howling against them, scoring slowed but another 2 goals cam from Hamble before the half time whistle. The team talk was full of positivity and the squad went back out with their heads held high. A strong Hamble scored another 2 quick field goals with some impressive aggression. The youngsters settled and began to show their skill and fitness, Morely & O'Sullivan using perfect triangles to work their way around the opposition, much to the oppositions irritation! This led to two solid field goals for Petersfield, the first from Day and second from Parker just 3 minutes later. Unfortunately, the dominant Hamble had not quite finished the job and took another 2 goals before the half time whistle, final score 9-2.
