The mist didn't dampen spirits for Petersfield under 12 boys on their second outing of the season, although an accomplished performance from Camberley and Farnham certainly delivered a reality check.

Petersfield's defence was under pressure from the whistle with Hegan holding fort in the centre and having to work industriously with the back line including McKenzie and Gary. Within eight minutes C & F had stolen their first goal, and despite some impressive gymnastics in goal from Stanbridge, C & F scored their second goal no more than six minutes later.

The Petersfield defence dug deep with Rushin shadowing the frequent attacks and Hegan intercepting loose balls at every opportunity. Linking up well the midfielders Sykes and Maughan-Taylor took the play into the attacking zone more often. M White and Nichols switched play with some insightful passes and before long Hill scooped up a loose ball on the edge of the D and punched home a trademark reverse shot to take the score line to 1-2.

E White continued Petersfield's attacks with skilful runs and some penetrating through balls to release Welch towards the C & F goal. A hungry Nichols swiped the ball onto the keepers pads and the rebound allowed a jubilant Hegan to sweep in Petersfield’s second goal.

Petersfield's celebrations were short lived as C&F seemed to switch up a gear and find superior ball speed with slightly more dependable passing. Valliant battles in midfield from Joe Price couldn't keep the well drilled C & F at bay and a flurry of goals followed as Petersfield temporarily lost their momentum. Stanbridge came out of the goal with 10 minutes to go and a score line of 2-6 to C &F. With an invigorated midfield, Petersfield began to test the goalie's pads once again and Joe Price's determined efforts were rewarded with a shot towards goal that was skilfully deflected over the keeper’s stick by James Hill for Petersfield's third goal.

Final score was 3-6 to Camberley. Player of the Match was Hegan for a sensational performance as the stalwart of Petersfield's defence.
