Next week Petersfield head to Yateley knowing another win will mean wing the league.

Petersfield second XI welcomed Alton second XI to Bedales. Alton
arrived with a large squad and with Petersfield having 11 players and
no subs it was going to be a tough match for Petersfield with everyone
having to work extremely hard. Alton started very strongly and put
Petersfield under a lot of pressure. Petersfield won the first penalty
corner of the game and Nick Budden's first shot was saved by the Alton
keeper but he followed up on the rebound and scored. Petersfield
started to put some pressure onto Alton and were awarded a second
penalty corner which was slipped to Matt Cooper who scored to make it
2-0. Towards the end of the first half a good team move led to Matt
Cooper finding himself in front of goal with just the keeper to beat
which he did to make it 3-0 at half time. Petersfield knew that Alton
would start the 2nd half strongly and with use of substitutes they put
Petersfield under a lot pressure again. Petersfield missed some early
chances in the 2nd half and started to tire. Alton scored two quick
goals and with Petersfield tiring rapidly it made the end of the game
very interesting but Petersfield held firm for a 3-2 win. Next week
Petersfield head to Yateley knowing another win will mean wing the
league.
