With a late afternoon game the Petersfield 3s headed to Fareham as the spring sun was still high. More on the sun later. After a rousing team talk and some physical Subbuteo tactics the team were ready to face whatever lay in front of them.
Luckily for Petersfield the Fareham team managed to win the toss and elected to play into the setting sun. Within the first five minutes a beautiful string of passes found Lawrence in shooting distance and with a big looping strike the ball flew through the air and evaded the Fareham keeper.
With spirits high both Max and Max then followed suit, copying Lawrence with beautiful stroking passes being strung together from a team of midfielders playing in harmony. Special note to Alec and Dan who moved swiftly up and down the field, guiding passes to confident looking wingers Olly and Max.
Goals also from Ed with a series of swift passes. The second half gave gave a number gave a number of short corner chances, to mention a brilliant goal from Olly M. strung together by passes from Dave M., Alec and Dan. Game finished with pasties for teas.
