The 3s hosted Trojans at home on a warm Autumn evening. The blue of Petersfield spent much of the opening minutes moving the ball up and around the pitch, connecting a string of beautiful passes. In addition to strong well timed hits from Olly Heapy, skilful play was also seen by Alfie and Wilfred around the midfield. At 15 minutes in a succession of passes were strung together and breached the experienced defensive line of Trojans. Tom Law fought to get himself in the right place at the right time behind the red wall and was rewarded with a goal. Trojans had several attempts to equalise in the remaining minutes of the first half but failed to do so.
The second half began well for Petersfield. With a well organised and busy midfield connecting passes and disrupting the successive Trojans attacks.
Sadly Trojans scored 2 goals in the middle of the half, despite our valiant attempts to block strong strikes at the ball by the determined forward line.
Unluckily for Petersfield, the hard work of the striker Ed Cropley to pass sprint and receive the ball again in the D only led to a disallowed goal.
The game ended with a defeat for Petersfield. But with good flourishes of play the team should be pleased to have put pressure on the opposition, and most importantly scored.
