Petersfield mens 3s headed to Chichester to play Lavant. After 10 minutes of strong play from both sides the Petersfield offensive runners made a beautiful series of passes. Two times in fact. Goals from Jeremy and Tom made us 2-0 up. The first half ended 2-1 due to an unlucky penalty flick given to Lavant.
The second half involved more attacking of the Lavant half. Sweeping runs from Olly Morley and Ethan Lawler contributed a lot to the energy of the team. Connecting passes and balls fed into Ed Cropley, and recycling of the ball by Rob Budden meant the pressure was on Lavant for most of the half.
After a series of passes and some missed opportunities, Olly Heapy put his big strike to use (not for the first time in the match) and found himself in open space at the top of the d. Olly Heapy found the back of the net with little chance for the Lavant keeper to get close to a save.
With a confident back line made stronger by David Longlands interception of passes, and David Morley finding players in space further up the pitch, Petersfield played and won with a plan. Goals galore. Well done all.
