Deserved win after a focused performance for the 3s

After an initial match delay of 10 minutes allowing two of the Petersfield 3s players to complete the fielded team, the 3s took the initiative and dominated the first 10 minutes of the match creating several score opportunities with Henry Plewes, Alex Hulme and Ben White. Though Pompey 4th scored first after a well planned counter attack, the 3s continued with the relentless and well orchestrated game plan which started from the sweeper Paul Fisher, through the midfielders Ben and Max White, Steve Hulme and Jack Symes, enabling the forwarding line to keep the opposite defence very busy. From the first short corner came the penalty for the 3s which was converted by Steve Hulme and short after from another short corner the 3s took the lead with Ben White. In the second half more of the same with Petersfield 3s collecting 9 short corners and increasing the score with Steve Hulme and his son Alex and Sam Gibbon. The team today showed great communication playing together; the return of the sweeper, Paul Fisher, helped by Chris Bott and Olly Caiger-Smith, brought again confidence in our defence line.
